Here's something I haven't done in a long while: a brief report on today's clouds. I was out at mid-morning, and spotted the unmistakable granular cottony porridgy look of altocumulus. Later in the day cirrus put in an appearance.
The wikipedia tells us that altocumulus signifies convection, and often precedes a cold front. Cirrus, very high clouds made of ice particles, also suggest an approaching front.
Looks like we should expect some changes in the weather to be headed our way.
