Weather report: The forsythia has spoken

With temperatures in Brooklyn reaching 70 sunny degrees yesterday, I think it's pretty safe to say that spring has arrived. I was doubly sure today when I saw Forsythia (as well as quite a few daffodils) in golden bloom. It was much cooler than yesterday this afternoon, and the skies took on a leaden, chill-inducing aspect as the day worn on. We haven't seen the last of old man winter just yet. But the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, the buds on the trees are swelling and the humans are all out on the streets as if even they had been hibernating for months.

The god is in his ascendancy; all's right with the world.
